5 Recent Projects from RGI

The RGI team has been busy developing experiential spaces for a library and a biotechnology company. We always enjoy looking back on past projects for inspiration and to identify further opportunities for innovation.

NASA Planetary Science

Multisensory Planetary Science Exhibit at NASA Goddard

We learn so much from every NASA project we complete, and the planetary science exhibit challenged us to be even more curious. RGI worked with the folks at NASA who study deep space—looking for planets and life.

The major goal of the exhibit was to communicate how NASA understands what a planet could look like when it’s so far away. Much of that has to do with how they study and their instruments, so we tried to give visitors that same experience.

There were multisensory components around the exhibit, including an interactive that allows people to smell what it’s like to be in space. And we also created a larger digital interactive: a planet builder. Guests could design their own planets with features similar to what NASA scientists have seen in space.

NASA Heliophysics

NASA Heliophysics Exhibit

The heliophysics exhibit at NASA Goddard Visitor Center was another project we worked on last year with the scientists. It involved larger-scale interactives, and our goal again was to tell a story to visitors, which we fleshed out during RGI’s research and discovery phases.

Automation Fair Environment

For Automation Fair 2022, we constructed a trade show environment including a cybersecurity operations center. At the booth, we had a live demonstration happening, showcasing how hackers can get into a network and how cybersecurity measures can battle those hackers. We also built egg chairs that enhanced the virtual reality experience at their virtual reality lab.

Cleveland Museum of Natural History Dinosaur Exhibit

The Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport got a new dinosaur exhibit last year from the Cleveland Museum of Natural History (CMNH). Our team had a lot of fun bringing CMNH’s design to life at the airport. After their design team created the components for us, we installed the exhibit in late 2022.

A couple years ago, RGI worked on another CMNH project: designing a donor wall. We were able to install a sleek, glass installment to their permanent collection.

Environmental Graphics for a Global Corporation

RGI created environmental graphics for an employee wellness program for a global corporation. We included images, diamond plate sheets, and window decals in our design.

Employee Gym for a Global Corporation

We also worked on two lobbies for this global corporation. Our goal was to communicate their company values and offerings as well as incorporate a little bit of storytelling.

In our last update, we mentioned a modular coffee shop for the same corporation, which can be extended or shortened to accommodate multiple baristas and moved throughout their facilities.

While some projects are still under wraps, we’re looking forward to sharing updates with you once we’re finished. The RGI team is growing, so we’re grateful to have more people at our office bouncing ideas off each other and sharing creative solutions.
